Default German Box with Strop and Straight Blade Compartment

Hello all.. This is my first post on this forum. I have been wet shaving for over a year now, but use DE safety. I have been curious to go the SE route and have been keeping my eye out at estate sales and such.

Today I just so happen to ask the gentleman if he had any safety or straight razors before leaving. He replied.. "funny you say that.. I have my fathers straight razor he used. How much you willing to pay"? at this point I thought I was dealing with someone who knew what the value of straights are. He went into the house and came out with a box. He told me that he was wondering if he should sell the razor the night before the sale. Back to the box.... he shows me this box that I have never seen before and in it was a mint Pearl King from Solingen. I asked how much he was asking. I thought he was going to say way more than the $40 he asked for. Deal was made.

My question is about the box, sorry for the tangent. This box was said to be owned by the mans father. His father bought it back 40+ years ago in Argentina and was brought to the states when he immigrated here. This explains the Alemania (Spanish for Germany) stamp on the box. The box appears to be Cedar wood (not sure).. It has a strop on top of the box. Also there is a sharpening stone and a compartment for the razor. I searched and cannot find anything on this box. So, this leads me to this post. I know you guys know your stuff, so if you can. Please give me a little information on the box and of its value. Im going to keep both the box and the straight. I just need to hone this bad boy and find a proper strop. I thank you for you wealth of knowledge.

The other razor was also bought today for $10 Its a Pipe razor by George Wostenholm & Son out of Sheffield England. This one has bone scales and is perfect on the edge also. Both were polished the pipe razor needed some extra work because of all the tarnish, but I got her nice and polished up. I plan to get these honed so I can use them. Can you guys tell me what the razors are worth also? I really appreciate your wealth of knowledge and hope to be on this board more often.

Armando, welcome to the forum. You made a very nice score. The Pearl King and the pipe razor are in great shape and should provide you with some great shaves. I can't tell entirely but the leather strop looks like it may have a lot of life in
it as well but will be easy to replace if it does not. I know nothing about the box set up but I like it. Sorry but we cannot
do any valuation estimates here. Enjoy.
