I'm not a steel expert, but I've tried all kinds of razors, all honed by me and there deffinetly is a difference. Ideal razor would be harsh on the whiskers and mild on the skin

I have been wanting Tamahagane Westen Iwasaki for a long time, but prices of those if one can find one are just crazy. I patiently waited for one to surface, and all of a sudden three NOS razors were posted at an auction. I put my sniper bid in with little hope I'll win as it was a major low ball, but lo and behold I got it, a true steal of a deal.

Second is Iwasaki Western in his modified Swedish Steel also NOS never honed.
    Both blades are Hollow ground.
I am really happy with the acquisition of those two, they are extremely rare razors to come by especially in NOS condition.

    Enjoy guys.

I think those are just beautiful & they went to a great home. I know they will be very well taken care of & I would love to one day own at least one in my life! The steel in those is fantastic! Smoking' great scores, I must say!!!!!!

Beautiful blades love them both. Maybe you could give one to the less fortunate for Christmas!

I can only dream of an Iwasaki Tamahagane Western, as I'm sure that I could never find one that I could afford. If I could only shave with one razor, that would be the one. Out of this world beautiful, Stefan.
