13/16 Meaty Stub tail GB
Hello everyone. Cheetah Meat reporting in. I know this isn't my usual posting. Being that this blade measures under 8/8 but it's a GB so whats not to love about it. Now my 9/8 GB has a little brother.
http://straightrazorpalace.com/show-...ght-razor.html
Picked this up from the bay. Here's what the listing had to say:
IT APPEARS TO HAVE ROUNDED CLEAR BUFFALO HORN HANDLES. ON ONE SIDE OF TANG IT READ " + G B". HANDLES HAVE SCRATCHES AND NICKS AS ANY USED VINTAGE RAZOR WOULD HAVE, SEVERAL CHIPS ALONG THE EDGES, SPLITTING OF THE HORN, AND A CRACK BY BOTTOM FRONT PIN AS SEEN IN PICTURES. BLADE SOME SHINE TO SEMI SHINNY!! BLADE IS THICK & HEAVY!!! BLADE IS 3/16 THICK!!! RAZOR IS STILL IN NICE CONDITION FOR IT'S AGE!!! AND COULD BE EVEN NICER IF SOME TOOK THE TIME TO CLEAN UP THE BLADE!!! BLADE DOES HAVE A FEW VERY TINY NICKS THAT SHOULD BUFF OUT. BLADE IS 12/16 AND GOES UP TO A 13/16.
This looks to be a pretty old blade. Little to no curve to the scales, a honking stub tail and a piece of George Washington's mullet.
As I ponder over which razor I will use for my first straight shave I figure this one wouldn't hurt to be in the runnings as well. I just picked up some shaving cream for sensitive skin from Kiss My Freakin Face...so I'm gertting excited.
I need to head over to the honing area and send a couple of blades out to get beveled, taped, buffed, wet sanded, brazilian waxed and fitted for prom night ....cause it's time for the BIG DANCE and I'm wearing the corsage!!!

MAN! Cheeta! That sucker is OLD! That's a great seller. A super nice guy. He must have jillions of razors!
Let's not have our first shave with this one, eh? You have done your homework, it would seem. Get a good blade in fine shape and get it on!

I'm sure he'll be along in a minute. You and Wullie are my resident experts. I cant forget Voidmonster too or Jimmyhad.

Thanked: 884PFFFFFFT, if the lad is bound and determined to shave with trotline weights whilst wearing a corsage, then I'm not sure we can be of any help.
I wouldn't shave with such a droll, old thing as that and I don't care how many times it's been Brazilian waxed. GOO LORD lad, you've NO idea where that thing has been!!!
Tell ya what, I'll send you a sack of plastic DE's to use and I'll be glad to put that old thing in my "hazardous waste" storage area.
I'll keep it well guarded.
Seriously, listen to us.

Alriiiiight. Here's the deal.
There is a vital, yet unwritten law.
Once you buy a razor that dates to between 1810 and 1820, you must shave with what you've got before you buy more. I know it's cruel -- there are so many razors out there that NEED to be bought -- but I don't make the laws, I just report on them. Once you're shaving your acquisitions can go totally wild, but when you've hit the eighteen teens, you gotta start shaving.
If you don't, every time you buy a razor, one of your others disappears, in order of purchase.

See now you guys are pulling my strop.
Even though my avatar reads senior member (for some reason) I'm def still a noob. You guys had me going there for a minute.
I'll find my own hazardous waste receptacle thank you.
Here they both are in their oiled up glory waiting for their restore/honing.
Thanks
Cheetah
