9/8 Wade & Butcher Cleaned Up
Here's the 9/8 Wade & Butcher that I polished with Mothers. The horn scales were already in great shape, so it did not take much work. I plan on taking this one to the hones tomorrow then using it on my whiskers. It's not perfect, but I am very happy with it. The photos are from an iPhone, so the quality is not that great. This is razor number 7. Now I will focus and shaving and maintaining, after I get this one shave ready. I fully expect it will be a great shaver.

Mother's and what ? Buffers , dremel, paper towel and elbow grease ?
Looks real nice. I've got one just like it and it is a killer shaver.

That's in real good condition. Use in good health. It's a classic from W&B. I've truly learned to appreciate Sheffield steel the past few years. Makes for incredible shavers.

Mother's and blue paper towels, and, at times, Cape Cod polishing cloths that I picked up at our local Ace Hardware. I also soaked the blade and scales in neatsfoot oil, which I also picked up at Ace. I worked on it from time to time over a few days. One thing about the Cape Cod polishing cloths is they are vanilla scented, so your hands smell good for the rest of the day.

Thank you. I feel very fortunate. It had just been listed on ebay with a $199 buy it now option, so I did, without giving it much thought. I was very surprised at its condition when I received it, both the scales and blade. It still shows the original striations on the blade from the grinding back in Sheffield. I plan to give it to my son some day so he can also enjoy shaving his face with this beast.
