Vtg Barbers Leather Hibbard Spencer Bartlett & Co Razor Sharpening Strop
For the last installment ladies and gentlemen I present to you my first ever strop. It is made by world reknown manufacturer Hibbard Spencer Bartlett & Co
The description read:
This is a old 26" long leather razor strop still in nice overall condition. It is marked 'Hibbard Spencer Bartlett & Co. 400 Sharpen and Honing'. It has a couple of very small rough spots on one of the upper edges (see picture), otherwise in good usable condition. It would also make a nice addition to your collection.
If anyone has any jokes or useful comments from the pics posted please proceed.
The only thing left now is to chose 2 straight razor and have my mentors hone them for me. Of course I will PM each of them for their availability, willingness to participate, fees, before I speaking out of turn.
Gentlemen we have reached a new era in shaving
cheetah meat has arrived....LOL
(the heavens open up...there is light shining down, doves flying at an 1/8 of their speed as a furry cheetah appears from the jungle with shaving cream on its face. For the newb has finally arrived)

Cheetah! You have 2 threads going on the same strop!
HSB were retailers. They sold all manner of things with their names on it!

Strop left handed and those nicks in the leather won't even be a bother. I do it all the time, but I am of course left handed.
So as a cheetah, are you gonna strive for the fastest shave on the forum? It's just corn syrup... Warm, blood flavored, corn syrup ...

uhmmm...what the heck has happened since I last checked in. You guys have totally hi jacked the thread.... LMAO.I've been so busy with work lately. I appreciate you guys filling in on the Cheetah Meat show. The HSB strop, the Packwood razor and the strange Anchor razor came in today. It was nice to get 3 boxes at work today. Still haven't decided which razor to start with or whether to fully restore or just have it honed so that I can start. I def sound like a broken record....
Is there a drought on ebay cause I haven't seen anything that I remotely would even want to buy...maybe thats a good thing so that i can send out some of these razors and get them nice and shiny.
I will take a pic of the holy trinity soon - the waterford crystal brush, silver mug and HSB strop.
You guys are awesome......
