    Default Strop help needed

Hello everyone... I need a little advice.
I was bought the below strop last week by a family member as ive been talking non stop about my new hobby and i just want to know what people think of it. Its not the best quality in the world (i think it cost around £20) but i dont want to take my razor to it if it will do more damage than good. Here is what it looks like:

Well to be perfectly frank all a strop needs to be decent is to have a reasonable piece of leather and something semi-aesthetically pleasing with which to attach it to a door knob/towel rail/hook of some description.

Is the leather smooth when you run your palm along it? If yes, it should be fine. It is hard to tell what the other piece is - is it a linen or canvas piece? In any event, it looks OK to me. Leather will not kill your razor as long as it is smooth (ish).

    James.
