Thread: Tosuke with custome grip

Well, the last of my recent ebay purchases came in today and I couldn't leave it alone. I'm not sure why I felt compelled but I had to change up this razor a bit.

It came looking like a standard kamisori with plain handle but I wanted to polish it up and put a custom handle on. I know its not the traditional thing but what do you guys think?

I also hollowed out the non-marked side as it was almost completely flat when I got it.

I prefer mine with the skinny metal tang but that's a fine job. Nice work on restoring the hollow on the omote too.

What's under the leather ?

Its more leather under the leather I got some beige stuff, traditionally for a Katana wrap it would probably be ray skin but that's not readily available for me. I should also point out the gold lettering isn't how it came either. I was just in a "change things up" sort of mood, so I cleaned it out and made it gold.
