Bresnick Vesuvius Grim Reaper
So I lied. I said I would stop at 7 razors (I guess I really mispoke, because I meant it when I said it), but I picked up one more over the weekend. Here are some pic's. This Bresnick Vesuvius needs just a little clean-up and polishing, then I am taking it to the hones. I am going to take my time with this one to get it right. It feels like it has a good bevel, so it hopefully will not take much work. I am looking forward to adding this to the rotation of now 8 razors. I hope I'm done, really.
(these are cell phone pics. someday I will bust out the SLR and take some good quality photos, someday.)

JimmyHAD, seeing your post reminded me I ordered on of those SRP logo razors, so I guess it will eventually be nine. Wow, I am done for sure!

Congratulations on a sweet find, I've been on the hunt for a Reaper for some time, but no luck. Yours appears to be in great shape, I hope you enjoy it for years to come.

Nice razor sir. I don't mean to sidetrack or threadjack, but I noticed that the design between the stabilizer and the wording on the tang looks like the same one as on my razor, do you think they were made by the same manufacturer? See my razor here, http://straightrazorpalace.com/razor...andfather.html I would like to know more about mine if you could help it would be most appreciated.
Aloha,
ED

I really don't know enough to help you. A couple of members here had mentioned that C.S. Bresnick is the guy who eventually made the dubk duck razors, and apparently this razor I picked up predates the dubl ducks. It could be that Bresnick also made razors for others, like Van Benschoten Hardware, but I really don't know. Maybe someone more knowledgable about Bresnick's history can chime in. You are correct, the stamp appears to be the same.

You picked up a Bresnick Vesuvius? WHere and how did you find one in that kind of condition. Did you have to sell a body part, or did you get a deal? That is an awaesome find.

Well, I still have all my body parts and organs. I will know if I got a deal after I hone then shave with it. I do expect it will shave well, as well as the other 7 razors I have, in which case I got a good deal. I shave every day, so this razor will get its share of work. I'm going to try to have it shave ready by Halloween, not because of Halloween and the grim reaper dude, but because Nov. 1 is my birthday, and I plan on shaving with this one on my birthday.
