Thanked: 22Check out the display case I just finished
I just wanted to share a few pics of a display case I just finished. This was actually a damaged and unfinished shadow box I bought at an arts and crafts store for next to nothing. The corner of the door was crushed in somewhat and there were two huge pieces of wood that were splintered off I had to glue back into place. For some reason, the wood filler I used soaked up the stain like I’ve never seen before. The old wood filler I use to use was just the opposite. You can see the really dark bottom left corner of the door where I had to repair it along with several other places where I used wood filler. The felt job is the main thing I’m so proud of. I can’t believe how well it came out!
I plan on making another one from scratch using oak, but it will display 16 razors with 2 wide and 8 from top to bottom. Also, I think I will put a small fluorescent light in the top of it. Well, I hope everyone enjoys this and most of all, gives some ideas if someone is contemplating something like this.

Thanked: 22A little FYI. The razor 3rd from the top was made in the later 1700's which makes it well over 200 years old. I think it's too neat to have something that old that is still functional. Would anyone believe that George Washington shaved with it? I'm glad nobody does because I'm kidding! LOL!
