I've got one of those but without the pearl tang. It shaves very nicely and is a permanent part of my collection. Congrats!

yup 5/8, err maybe just a hair under after honing
However, I guess I didn't see the Mother of Pearl was broken right before the pivot, so it's a little loose. Does anyone know of someone that might be able to restore this or should I just chalk it up to buying experience?

You can check the classifieds under member services for a restorer. Just email or PM them, which ever they prefer, and ask them. It's not impossible that one of the them can fix it to your satisfaction.
