Need Help With ID'ing a Razor?
Hello All,
This is my latest ebay acquisition. It's a "Clea Shave" made in Solingen for someone named "D.H. Lory" in NY. Has anyone else seen anything like this and if so, do you happen to know the approx. vintage? The scales are obviously Bakelite, and it looks like there's a missing emblem indent on one of them. I got the razor for $20 and the blade is in really good condition. Should hone up nicely. If anyone can help me date this razor I would greatly appreciate it!!

Thanked: 3164"D. H. Lory" was Dow Harold Lory, born 1881, trading as D. H. Lory /D.H.L. from 379 Broome Street, NYC in the early 1920s - 30s. In 1920 he gave his occupation as 'travelling salesman.' He also was involved with Beckher-Otte Inc., 118 E. 28th St, NYC after this date. Both companies ran an import/export business for Solingen-made razors.
I have a few razors with those scales - they usually have a bit of MOP or similar in the oval.
Should hone-up well.
Regards,
Neil

Wow, thanks for the info!! So this razor is likely from the late 20's - early 30's I'm guessing...Very cool...I plan in putting it on my Norton 4/8 then the C12k and see what happens!!
