My two new acquisitions (Pirola & Sanssouci) What do you think?
Hello all,
I wanted to share my two new acquisitions with you.
The first one has a nice story with it. The razor has been used by two generations of barbers. The one I bought it of just retired and he got it from another barber when he was retired. It is a Pirola #2 wich I believe is made by Otto Busch (correct me if I'm wrong)
The razor is still in excellent condition. 2 tiny spots of rust but will sand that away in no time. The pins need some fastening as well. The markings on the tang say Made in Solingen Germany.
The second one is a Sanssouci razor. This one has some more rust but still very nice if you ask me. Markings on the tang says Finest Sheffield steel. Forged and real hollow ground in Germany. On the other side it says sanssouci Wald Solingen.

Thanked: 3226Yea, very nice pieces. If you attempt to clean them be very careful around the etchings and gold as they can be removed very quickly. It does look like both should clean up nicely. Enjoy them.
