Recent Finds - Greaves FBU, Packwood and unknown stubby
Recently acquired some interesting razors. First up is a cheapy I found on ebay. It's a (I think) rattler grind full 8/8 marked Wm. Greaves and Sons For Barbers Use. This one (http://straightrazorpalace.com/custo...rbers-use.html), but with a different grind. Working on setting a bevel still. The scales are etched with someone's name and '1912', but it's obviously older than that.
Up next is a Packwood I snagged, with a really interesting wedge. It's notched with a V shape so the scales are clamped in, and the spine has the ribbed working often seen on these, but all toward the front. Couldn't pass this one up.
Finally is an interesting razor from the 1700s that is simply marked with a '3' and what looks like a tomahawk. I'm sure it's an axe of some kind and not a pipe. Still looking for information on a possible maker. The spine tapers from the thin stubtail to about 6 mm thick at the point. The collars are steel floral type, and the pins are steel too, I want to think they are original. Still not sure if I want to leave it as is or do a very very light restore.
