Thanked: 1The MAB
Hi all,
Just found this in a box of my granddad s old technical drawing stuff.
Looks like he used it to sharpen his pencils.
Well... it's not bad for my first razor. So it's now going to be my pet project over the next few weeks to restore it to a shine and then send it off to be honed and shave ready.
What do you guys think?
Also, what do you think Ballard means? Is this a pro etching into the scales or do you think it's likely to be the surname of someone who owned it before my grandad? He had no family connections to any Ballards as far as Im aware.
I also noticed slight lines running down the scales. Would you say these are horn, or celluloid made to look fancier?
Cheers for looking.

Nice looking razor and it looks like it should clean up nicely. The scales look like horn. I have a S.R. Droescher razor with horn scales that look just like those. I think Ballard was someones name that they scratched onto the scales. If it was used in the army like the ad says could be a soldiers name. That would be something to look into. Never know what you might find.
