Thanked: 247I'm of the opinion that the stabilizer will need ground also. If it were mine, I'd use a DMT 325 to create a nice even smile from heel to toe. Then apply the razor to the hone with the the toe lifted from the plate, and spend probably close to 45 minutes thinning the stabilizer at the heel....Could be longer really. Then after all that was done, I'd do a TNT and see if the blade was grabbing my nail at the heel, and through where the frown "used" to be. If so, then I'd move to 1k, and hone the razor. If not, I'd continue on working the heel with a DMT, until I had a bevel there. Taping, and frequent changing of the tape would be a good idea also.
However it goes, get settled in. This type of work doesn't go quickly. But it's fixable. IMHO, there is no way you're going to hone that razor to an acceptable edge without removing the frown.
Best,
Justin

Perhaps this will help:

It worked for me: http://straightrazorpalace.com/works...n-no-more.html
IMO, I would not mess with the stabilizer until after you have dealt with the frown.
Hope you lick the problem, which ever way you go.

Thanked: 4249Here a little sketch showing the blade without any stabilizer or heel reduction. Most metal removal at the toe.

Thanked: 480First thing you need to do is make a decision!
Do you want this "straight" or do you want this "smiling"
I love a pretty smile!
Smile will allow you to do a minimum amount of work on the toe and mid section. If you want it straight line, then you are gonna be a busy guy. Make sure to give your hands rest time, so they dont cramp up.
