That should work. I would have kept the old scales on though. How does fit/work in your hand with the longer tang? Maybe you could use it as a fixed blade. If you didn't wreck the old ones taking them off your next project should be trying to repin them. Again there is nothing to loose but a piece of brass rod.

Well this evening I took my W&B up to Larry at Whipped Dog to have the original scales repinned on and to have it honed. From the look of it, it will be a shaver again. I also picked up another razor while I was up there so I would have more then one (perhaps the effects of RAD already?) as well as a strop. The other razor I bought from Larry was a 4/8 Bengall round point. I should have them both back in about a week, cleaned up and ready to go. I will post pictures when they come in.
