finally a antique store find !!
i hit up a flea market and about 6 antique stores today , saw probably 30+ straights and zero DE razors , all in terrible shape but 3 , kinda disheartening seeing all those fine vintage blades in such condition that even i didnt buy more then 1 , most had such bad half a dime sized chips , or been honed so bad the toe was half the size of thee heel or didnt even have a spine left .. saw 2 okay Bokers but when i asked for a price she pulled her phone out and said there selling in the $100's on ebay and i could have them on a special deal at $100 a piece so i said thank you but ill pass ... anyway i managed a DD brush and a Joseph Smith & Sons razor for a grand total of $15 at another little store

Thanked: 1184Cool finds. Now you got a horse brush it looks like. Which end does it smell like. I got a red one like that and the horse must of just had a bath. :<0) Nice blade... How Fat is it 7/8 ?
Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

i havent even put it on a tape but i say its 7/8 , i just now cleaned it up a bit , got 2 pit spots both in the middle of the blade and some smaller pits in the spine ..... i just washed the brush b4 i used it in some highly sented body wash .. it still smells like the back end ..lol.. i will say the brush is super soft once wet with some soap on it , it made a good lather for tonight's shave when i used it i think ill have a night of sanding and then hit the hones 2morrow and put the wedge to the test .. if anything i got nice scales if i need them for another English piece of steel ... on the brush i was thinking it was horse but wasnt sure , i do like the length of it and way it feels , there wasnt a hair out of place on it when i grabbed it ...

Thanked: 1184I got an M5 that color and it is a lot bigger than the M3. Soft ain't the word for it. I used hiar shampoo to remove the poo with conditioner. I used to wash my horses with dish soap and a pineoline rinse. Pineoline's pine scent will cover the smell of a skunk almost.
I got an M3 but the middle was gone out of it. e-Bay pic didn't show that. rackus fracus, smakin frackin seller.....Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

Those are some great finds! Love the old Dubl Duck Brush. Is that a stainless or aluminium handle?
Last night, I shot an elephant in my pajamas..........
