Well, it doesn't smell like any TOBS or any other fancy stuff I tried in the past, but the almond scent is pretty strong. I'm actually about to do a test lathering later (can't wait until tomorrow... to test it) so I can see how strong the scent is once lathered

According to some reviews I read on italian forums the 1 kg block seems to be better than the bowl version. IMHO it's just a matter of the age of the soap, the older it is, the lesser the scent...

I was offered the menthol version today, and I want to try it as I do like menthol based soaps in general, but between the classic valobra and the cella I bought today I think I'll have soaps for at least one and an half year

Yep, read about a lot of kudos about P.160 in so many places. Nevertheless P.160 is "supposed" to be of a lower quality compared to valobra and cella as it has more chemicals. Cella, and especially valobra is purely natural. Valobra is relatively expensive as well, especially if you compare it to cella.

I bough 1 kg (1,000 grams) of cella for 15 euros today (2.25 Euros for 150 grams), the Valobra block of 150 grams costs 9.50 Euros.

I do know Valobra products from previous experience; although I never tried their shaving soaps, I used they "standard" soaps in the past and they are great stuff so I do expect a great product; my only concern is about how it'll perform with the terribly hard water that we have here in Milan.

Ok, just tested how cella lathers and it is amazing!!! I never saw a soap produce so much lather is such a short time!!! The almond scent is definitely softer once the soap is lathered. I ended up washing my hands with the lather, it was a pity just to wash it down the sink, and I have to say I was impressed about how soft it left my hands.

At this point I really looking forward to tomorrow shaving. Can't wait to test the cella in the way it deserves!!!!

Ok, so, quick summary of my impressions on cella and Floid.

Cella: reasonably easy to get a nice lather, even with hard water. I'm still not 100% sure about how much water it requires, but it seems to require less than proraso.
I did expect more gliding effect from this soap but it was not a problem. The lather dries much slower than proraso and very much slower than TOBS. The scent is almost unexistent, I could barely feel the almond. Now, shaving perfomances: WOW!!! The closest shave I've ever got with a single pass!
I need to test it a couple more times, but I think this will be one of those soap that will always stay with me from now on.

Floid: Well, what could I say? This was love on first splash! Love the scent, love the cooling sensation and it left my skin in a very good shape!
