I just got my new vintage JA henckels # 35 in the mail that i got on ebay. not sure how new or old yet but there going to be my first go at restoring a a straight razor it looks good not to bad rust and the scales look reusable.

After I get it polished up ill send it out for honing dont want to mess it up. I can't wait to get started I have a few things to get before I do.

That should be fun to polish and rub all day!
Nubo - When you have to track down someone to unlock the doggone display case to get to the disposable razor blades, something has gone terribly wrong.

If you look in the wiki, there is some info on dating henckels based on the logo design.

    Have fun.

    Hey Wallens,
They're nice shavers. If you've not grinding resto before, you may find that having it done eats heavily into the savings from an ebay buy. If you can do the work yourself - its fun & rewarding. From the pics, this'll take more than honing to make shave-ready - often hours of grinding to get spine & bevel traveling roughly parallel. 'Don't say this to discourage, but its why the classifieds here are often more cost effective. 'Hope this one turns out well and puts many smiles on your face.
