    Default Razor Hunt

Went on a razor hunt today around Auckland, I visited about 5 antique shops on my hunt one had almost 100 straight razors before xmas but got cleaned out so that let me a bit gutted I'd missed out. One guy says he has 4 upstairs which he can't find but will call me when he does apparentl at least one has whale bone scales.

I did have some luck though I found a shop with about 6 Bengall straights, 3 had ivory scales and the rest were some form of plastic, I sorted through and picked the ones with the best blade condition and ended up with one ivory and one plastic scales.

    Ivory scales ....

I'm going to try my first restoration job on the plastic scaled one.
Thanks for looking and if anyone has any idea on age of these two please let me know.

There is just the one out of about 6 in my area that has any and it's mainly Bengalls but most are quite nice, I had both of them honed and are nice shavers and will be sending them out for a custom rescale and bit of clean up.
