Size: 18.5 KBI picked this Clauss up at an antique shop for five bucks, it had a chip in the blade at the point which i have ground down to a round point. Does anyone have any experience with these razors? I would love any information I could get as this is my first razor. The engraving on the blade says THe Magnetic Razor.

Yea your going to have to hone out that frown. Appears to be in 'not so bad' condition though. Should clean up nicely with some TLC. The etching is definitely cool. As a first razor, i think its been said a million times... for a first razor get something thats going to shave, and shave well. I dont doubt that razor will be an incredible shaver once fixed up, but in it currant state it is not ready to shave with and certainly is not 'shave ready'. To avoid being turned off from straight razor and straight razor shaving all together get something that will shave well now. Check the classifieds. ohhhh yea and Welcome to SRP!

Thanks for the warm welcomes, I am well aware that it is far from shave ready though thank you for catching the frown as I actually didnt notice it until you pointed it out. I just sent it to be honed today and these pictures are pre-hone, until then my From replaceable blade is doing fine service.

Well I just got this razor back from getting honed, and it turned out nice. Now I just have to polish up my technique.
