NOS Puma 89 13/16
I just received this beautiful Puma in the mail. This one is the mintiest ones I have yet to receive and I am convinced it is NOS, as it shows no signs of use or wear and looks brand spanking new. It is made for the Italian market, as the information booklet and quality seal on the back of the scales are in Italian.

Thanked: 194yup looks nos, most likely you will find some honewear though. every puma that i have bought being called "nos" never ends up actualy being nos. they have all had hone wear. since they were such good and popular razors most of them were used but just well kept. either way that baby is a great buy. such a fabulous looking piece. enjoy and share some better pics when she comes in

I’m trying not to buy any new blades right now. But especially anything that is not on my “list”. However, a Puma has been on that list for a little while. But I have good razors and don’t NEED anything. But I’m still very envious of that great find. When the right one comes along, it’ll have the same etching on the blade but with a square tip and white/faux ivory scales. Mighty fine acquisition you have there.

Thanks guys, the seller who sold me this razor was an antique dealer and doesn't know much about straight razors. It has a tiny amount of hone wear, but could that be the factory hone wear ? It looks like the hone wear I typically see on brand new razors.
Here are some more pics. Its a nice heavy blade and the scales are super tight. I actually feel guilty honing this thing and using it. I think I might simply try refreshing the edge on chrom oxide and leather before using any stones, as the edge can cut a little hair in some areas.
How would you approach honing a razor in this condition? Here are more pics.

It's too late! I honed it up ( yesterday's featured sotd) and decided to start from scratch and reset the bevel, shaves like a dream now. I had to ask because it was my first nos vintage razor. But the condition of the edge answered my question really.
