    Default Sharpy's T.R. Cadman & Sons - Bengall Restore

    I have been given a T.R. Cadman & Sons - Bengall razor.
It is not in very good condition and I would like to restore it if feasible.
I have pics as I got it and some after I gave it a little scrub with a green scourer.
Please give me some feedback on the quality of the razor and the possibilities for the restore.
    Thanks !

They are definately a quality razor, yours on the other hand shows sign of rust and pitting along the spine, that said the edge looks ok but if you have voids or pitting it will need to be removed to get a good clean shaving edge. More cleaning will tell you more on the edge situation, how about some further cleaning with sandpaper.

The aesthetic stuff is not a problem, this razor has been used for grafting plants . What grit and type of paper ? I have a few grades of wet and dry on hand... Just use something like 600-800 ? I would rather keep the defects than damage the writing...thanks

I gave the blade along the edge a good sand with 400/800 wet and dry so try and see how far the rust/pitting went.
Then used the paper on a flat surface as a "hone" to take a bit of metal off the edge so it was more visible.
Please let me know what you think of the condition of the razor !

Just under the "A" of CAIRNS you can see a bit of a chip or something.
By the time the edge was straightened up, would that chip be gone do you think ?

That little chip or void there will hone out no problem!
