Thread: My Bartmann brothers

Here is a little history of my love for these razors.

When I decided to start shaving with a straight razor I started my search on ebay. I saw a lovely Bartmann razor wich was in perfect condition that was being sold right here in Belgium. I fell in love with the razor the second I saw it. I placed several bids on it but did not win the auction. However the seller welcomed me in the world of straight razors and gave me lots of tips and explanations and also sold me my very first razor. A lovely Charlex razor. Wich I also adore. But I could not get the image of the Bartmann out of my mind. Now I don't remember wich number the Bartmann was. But it did not have gold wash on the blade and the working on the spine was black and not the gold. In 5 months of searching and bidding on several Bartmann razors on ebay and always losing the auction I found 2 lovely examples again right here in the little country Belgium. I placed a bid with the seller, he counterd my offer and I agreed. I can almost say that I will have razors in my possession. They are currently in shipping so I wil post better pictures when I get them. But here they are my 2 new friends.

Thank you all for the reply's. I also heard they shave great. Will hone them as soon as they arrive and try them out.
