Default The Elmo razor. Osborne Garrett & co. ltd.

My mother found this razor a couple days ago at an antique store, and texted my me a pic of it. It was a brand I didn't know so I immediately did a search on here about it. I found that this razor is part of a family of razors made by Osborne Garrett & co. ltd. The most well known of the family is the Kropp razor.

Of the 5 razors in the family, it seems that the Kropp is the dominant of the pack. There's tidbits of information on the Carrara, Ogee, and Osgar and really, none on the Elmo. The Kropp has many posts and owners.

Any extra info you guys could add on these razors would be great. Or if I have something wrong feel free to correct me. All in all, I think this Elmo will hone up nice and produce some great shaves. I cant wait to get it to my face.

I've restored quite a few Kropps and truly believe their quality is as good as anything I've had. On that basis and assuming that this is just as good given that it comes from the same 'family' you look to have done very well.

I read just today that the 'ground in Germany' probably dates to pre first world war - after that the grinding was in Sheffield. That, however, was taken from another site so I don't know how accurate a claim it is.

king 1k, Nor 4/8, Nani 12k, 10 passes on CrOx, 100 passes on English bridle, and shaving off a week and a half beard resulted in a superb shave! Im loving this blade so far. Honed easy and shaved awesome.
