Default Bought my first razor today

Bought this Clauss today on Ebay and am anxious to try my hand at restoring it.
I am an advanced plastic modeler so this shouldn't be too hard....hopefully.

Nice razor, there are many tutorials on restoration in the SRP library here. Congratulations on your son becoming a drill instructor. That is the cream of the crop. I thank him for his service.

I can't tell from the pic, but is that one of the Clauss USMC stamped razors? Just in case you didn't know, the USMC issued them circa WWI and they were stamped on the tang. They also had a Clauss razor with USMC etched on the blade from the Spanish/American war. They come up fairly regular on eBay. I have one of the WWI razors and its kind of neat to have with that old connection to the Corps.

Should clean up nicely, please post pics of the finished project.
Mastering implies there is nothing more for you to learn of something... I prefer proficient enough to not totally screw it up.

I'd bet your son would like one too, whether he uses a straight or not. I'll keep my eye out for one and I'll pm you if I see one.

Enjoy that Clauss and the fun of restoring it.

Thanks Howard. My son thinks I am weird using a straight razor. Haha
