    Default Satinedge #2

I got my 2nd Satinedge yesterday. I bought it thinking I was going to have to replace the scales and rub on it for a week straight. I polished it up a little and here it is.

Now I am wondering how I got it so cheap. The 1 question I have is, are these scales supposed to be this color ? My last 1 was clear and I have always thought that yellow meant they were going bad. These are as transparent as my other one except for the color. They have some warping so I have to be careful when closing and the toe hits the spacer on the way in if I don't pull back some. The blade is almost perfect with no pits or anything. I stropped it and it shaved fine this morning. I was fully prepared to change out these scales but I'm not sure I have to now that I got it in my hand.

Looks identical to the one i picked up after i cleaned it, and the same issues. I just gave it a strop and shaved with it, great shave. As to whether the scales should be that color, not sure, i am keeping a close eye out for any sign of cell rot. Bottom line is mine was a bargain too, and three months on, still very happy with the way it performs, sometimes you just get lucky.

Will look at it every 7th day. :<0)
Right now I am thinking of making some in my spare time. (should be a year from now) I have an extra set of scales with nice inlays I got for a buck (a cell rot special). Somewhere I saw some frosted white ice scale material . It was a white translucent with a hint of blue. Won't look original but maybe better in my opinion.
