Thanked: 21Custom Brush and soap rack
As I mentioned in my previous post I'm far from a wood worker, just enjoy working with wood. So this is the final product, the back is made of bloodwood, the shelves are Honduran Rosewood. Two coats of Marine Varnish, and brass accents, including solid brass hooks at the bottom to hang my paddle and hanging strops. What do you think? Be honest I can take it, any suggestions that might help me on my next project are always welcome.
Thanks for looking.
Respectfully
Christian

Thanked: 21I thought about a satin finish and your right it would look great I think the main reason I went with the gloss is because I have a gallon of it that I've had for a while and I didn't want to buy another type till I use this up. And the bloodwood looks great with the shine. I don't know if the pictures do the colors justice. Thanks for the the advise maybe ill make another Hummmm then I need more brushes and soap and so on to full it, east to justify the addictions

I like it a lot,
Our master bedrooms bathroom has a separate shower area from the rest of the room.
One must actually have leave the shower/ dressing area, passing into the bedroom in order to access the vanity/sink area.
Something like that would look great hanging on the wall outside the vanity area.
Thanks for showing of the finished project.

Thanked: 21I put four Loop screw in's on the back.with some cable wire and 6 half inch felt pads to even out the distance from the wall all around. It a very heavy piece close to 20pounds not including all the things ill put on it. As I mentioned one of the things going on it is a paddle strop I made in the honduran rosewood let's just say I wouldn't want to get hit with it, thing has some weight to it,bet it could hit a baseball no problem

Woah, that's 9kilo :-S
The rack looks fine, the finish is personal opinion and depends on where it will be hanging.
