i just aquired a wade and butcher razor that says westons hollow ground on the blade and am wondering where it is on the timeline plus i am a newbie and am trying to post a pic.

Nice blade, how about an overall shot of the razor open ? We love razor porn the way some people like Playboy magazine. If it doesn't have "England" stamped on the blade it is pre 1891. If we can see the scales and the monkey tail we might be able to date it more closely. Those changed over the years. Blade etching started around 1830 IIRC.

Based on shape I would say 1890-1910. Pretty late for an 'old style" W&B.. That razor should clean up nicely and will be an excellent shaver. Great score! The blade type itself is pretty common for a W&B of that era, but I have never personally seen that exact etching.... Ironically this blade appears to be the same or very similar to a medium sized hollow ground razor of the same period. It's possible "Weston's" was a reatailer I would put money on that!
