Guess I "TWEEKED" it a bit too much.

I would not wish this on my worse enemy....
You quote mocks me now: "No man is totally useless, they can always be used as a bad example."

I was afraid you would say that was the method you used. I have used it twice on tangs but never on the spine of a razor. I just put enough pressure on to hold the rig in place and then just the tiniest fraction of a turn on to add just a tiny amount of pressure. Left it at that for a bit and the repeated adding just the tiniest amount more of pressure and left it at that for a bit and so on. I don't think you can do the whole correction in one shot because of the tempering. I also found you had to slightly over correct because as the pressure came off it would want to return a little from memory in the steel. I guess I got lucky and possibly the tang does not have as much tempering as the blade itself. Always feared what happened to you would happen to me when doing that. At any rate I am very sorry it had to happen to you and with such a nice blade to boot.

Chiefy gave me that line when I mucked up an evolution onboard ship and I never forgot it. Every time I screw up, and that is frequently, I take comfort in his words.

If you ain't fail'n, you ain't trying. I stopped keeping quiet about the stupid things I've done - hoping some new guys can avoid my foolishness. To learn, you have to make mistakes. At least you're in there swinging. Keep it up.

Luck of the draw, seems like. Naw I am am a thick headed perfectionist determined to keep screwing up till I get being a screw up right. Hasn't happened yet, still got quite a ways to go. Seriously though, isn't just incredible how little pressure it takes to have an oooops. Not like being a millwright where can you snug it up till the bolt snaps then back it off 1/2 a turn and call her done. Done that too, wasn't much of a mw helper either it turns out. Ya gotta cheer up.
