You will find that our saying "less is more" is so true with the GS's. Keep the edges chamfered & enjoy, I've been using them for quite some time...soon you will see why. A "sweet 16" and a "green brick" is all you will ever "need" with your new babies. If I can ever help you, don't hesitate to contact me.

I already have the chosera but not the 16. I want/need to learn with my cnat and zulu grey some more so I'm not too sure if/when a sweet 16 will come into play.

The Zulu Grey will serve you just fine for your finishing...until the HAD kicks in. I prefer a natural as my finisher each and every time. I have fine tuned my honing to: Chosera 1K, Shapton GS 2,4,8,16 & then a natural finisher of my choice, one of which is a Zulu Grey. I have tried many options & combinations, but this one works best for me. I would recommend that you build a good honing foundation on the 1,4, & 8K first. Once you are getting good shaves every time, then throw in the Zulu Grey...you will be pleased with the edges...and yourself.

There are quite a few Aussie's here on the forum, you might check to see if any veteran honers are within driving distance to you. It sure would help you out on your quest for the "perfect edge".
