    Default Kanayama Strops

These items came in the mail today. Two Kanayama strops, one vintage pelican and the other a new #3. Oh! and another Puma Special for good measure.

After 10 years of using my scarred but trusty Dovo Wide Russian, I thought the time is now right for an upgrade.

Both the Pelican and the new #3 simply exude high quality craftsmanship. The feel of the razor on the strop is just better than I ever imagined. To my great surprise, the vintage Pelican is in great condition considering its age and the #3 is just silky smooth.

    I am one happy shaver!

NICE! Adding to the collection is awesome. It's nice to have options... and you seemingly are giving yourself some great ones .

    Congrats.

Congratulations on two top of the line strops. That older Kanayama is a beauty. Enjoy.

I purchased the puma and the vintage strop from japannippon on ebay. The new kanayama was purchased from Aframes Tokyo.
    Both are excellent sellers.

I will likely still keep my two older strops for the following reasons:

    a) travel strops, not a big deal if they get lost.
    b) instructional strops, to allow newbies to have a go on, without risking a heart attack if they ever nick them in the process.
    c) To pass on to my boys, should they one day be interested in learning this art.

There's always a good reason to hoard shaving related equipment.

Kanayama is pure joy to strop on.
