Default 6/8 CF Schwartz & Co/ High Class

Stumbled onto this razor today and thought id might be worth a shot at saving. The gold wash will mostly have to go but I will try to save it on the etching. New scales are in order too, eventually. Just could not pass the old survivor up.

I absolutely love my C.F. Schwartz (although not as fancy looking as yours). It's a great shaver.

I'm with Badgister on this one - something dark. Brown or black or maybe streaky horn... a lighter wedge... I think it would be a beaut!

EDIT: forgot to say: nice find!

It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.

Nice razor. I have the same one and it took a wonderful edge. The scales on mine looked just like yours with the wrinkled look and missing inlay. The goldwash on the tang was worn off as well. Here is mine before and after rescale.

She must have been a pretty blade when new but aside from the gold wash on the etching there is little left on the worked spine or tang. She is a pale shadow of herself now but non the less still nice.

Im sure with new scales this will be a very good looking razor i didnt even notice the goldwash on the worked spine until you mentioned it. And more importantly from a few post, i gather that this brand of razor takes a wondeful edge.

I gotta go wood one this one. Hard maple or osage orange with amber shellac, finished with a nice clear coat. Beautiful blade sir.
