That is seriously cool - sorry I can't help with any of your questions - I just wanted say how cool that is. I think that you don't have the matching brush because your 82 year old granddad had to get out of Dodge is... well, that's priceless

Nice looking scuttle and it comes preloaded with sentimental history, too cool!
As far as the brush, you can always set up a search for a similar vintage brush on eBay and restore it. There is a lot of info on SRP about brush restoration and repair including how to replace the badger knot. Or, you can take a gamble and hit yard sales and flea markets in your area. Just remember your old pal WhiskerHarvest while you are perusing the wares!
