heirloom scuttle
ive been to visit my grandfather, came away with this-
He told me when he was 18 he left home joining the Royal Fleet Auxiliary. He was on ship for 5 years before able to come home again. as a going away present his mother bought him this and a badger brush. he would still have the brush as well but he spilt up with a lady friend on bad terms a couple years ago and left it in her house. he is 84 now, i would like to know, can anyone beat using the same brush for 60 years?
does anyone know if it is the same kent manufacturer that still makes brushes today.Net.Wt.7oz

That is seriously cool - sorry I can't help with any of your questions - I just wanted say how cool that is. I think that you don't have the matching brush because your 82 year old granddad had to get out of Dodge is... well, that's priceless .

Nice looking scuttle and it comes preloaded with sentimental history, too cool!
As far as the brush, you can always set up a search for a similar vintage brush on eBay and restore it. There is a lot of info on SRP about brush restoration and repair including how to replace the badger knot. Or, you can take a gamble and hit yard sales and flea markets in your area. Just remember your old pal WhiskerHarvest while you are perusing the wares!
PM me and let me know how the hones worked out.I shave because I want to, not because I have to!
