Default My "School is taking over my life" finds.. Razor porn

Hey guys, so my RAD has been dormant for a year because of school. Somehow though I have managed to get a few razors during my "off of the forum" time. Nothing special (except for the surprise 7 day set I got a few days ago). The first razor I got was by chance when I went to Austin one weekend. I was in a hipster thrift shop and saw they and a Hall's razor in their display case. It was for display only but I offered the guy $10 for it and he took it! It's an old Sheffield maybe from the 1890s, it even came with the box! The horn scales need TLC, an over night neatsfoot oil dip might do the trick (I just need to get some)

The next few razors I just got last week. They all had a little bit of rust but I lightly sanded them and they look ok. The first one of these I want to show is a Henckles 4/8, it was a rusty boy but I got it for a steal! Hand sanded it and honed it.. now it shaves like a champ!

Next is a Torrey 5/8 barber's notch, it had a bit of staining that I sanded off, it came with original box! Honed this one and now it can cut hairs into tine little pieces!

Lastly I got a pipe razor, its 5/8 and in pretty good shape after sanding. The scales are done but most likely I'll grab a pair from someone off the forum.

and a bonus.. some artsy fartsy pics of the 7 day set I got a few days ago!

So yeah.. these are ALL the razors I have acquired in a period of a year -.- lol.

    Nice!

As a student I can commiserate with you!! Im in my final few weeks of uni ever!!! (if I pass everything...*knock on wood*).
I cannot say however I have been as diligent as you with not being on the forum or buying razors and such.
I tend to cruse the forum a lot!!!

I'll have to post a pic of all the razors I have picked up over the last year when I am finally done....
There is a few of them he he he....

I had to stop, my grades were starting to show I was on the site too much. My collection was starting to get crazy! I'm rebuilding it though! I sold about 90% of my collection throughout the last year My first big purchase will be hopefully the SRP razor if the list is still open!

I really wanted one of those too! I've had to be very harsh with myself and realize my financial limitations. That and I had a chat with the RAD beast within me and what it wants more....it wants to try a kamisori! Plus some different brushes, soaps, aftershaves etc etc. LOL
I also need to save some muula because there is a knife maker that lives in the same town as me who has made a razor before, I was talking with him at one point and he wants me to go around to his shop when I have time so that I can make one with him
Just waiting on the time to try and restore some of the ones I have picked up and sell off to pay for all my AD's...

Can I join the fraternity of starving students with RAD? I literally have two weeks of uni left and I'll be done for good. I have no less than five restore projects that are on hold because of school :[

Good finds man! And for great prices!! I still need to check the antique shops around my hometown area now that I've moved back.
