Best shave so far!! Thanks Cudarunner!!
Well, after a few weeks of learning about this new found art I have finally gotten a shave to be proud of. I acquired recently a Fenney Tally Ho from the 1800's that was in ok shape but nothing to shave with. After much mentoring and talking with Cudarunner (Roy) we struck a friendship that I never expected initially when joining this forum. Long story short, Roy had me send him all of my razors for honing and a little cleanup. Well I got this one back and with a little elbow grease and know how, this Tally Ho is quite a gem. A razor brought back to life not only in looks but it just gave me my first really fine shave I've had yet. My shave consisted of a hot shower, followed up my Maggard's Sweet Orange preshave oil, and my soap was Wool Fat mixed with a little Cella cream. Perfect lather and shave. Ended it with a few rubs of the Barber Alum, rinse, and a splash of Pinaud Clubman. Dang that felt good.
A sincere thanks to Roy for getting me going in straight razor shaving. You make one hell of a fine edge.

The pleasure was all mine!
When you get the last seven back, you will have more to play with than you know what to do with!!
While my general counsel is to stay away from FleaBay when you are brand new and don't know the difference between s**t and apple butter about straight razors, you have made some very nice purchases! Also the razors that Mr. Seiler gave your father and your father gave to you are all very nice! You will be very pleased with them!!!
It's always nice to make a friend, especially a friend found at SRP!!
