Hey all,
We've added a new subforum for shaving with Shavette razors (straight razors using disposable blades). That topic sometimes pops up in the other forums, and this way it can have its own place.

Blasphemy I say!
I agree, but it's for the good cause.
This way I can more easily find all the heathens that need to be expelled :p
I draw the line at cartridge and electric razors though.
Well I think you are mean, shavettes are closer to straight razors than a D/E is aren't they? :)
as a barber shavettes are more practical and easier to keep sanitized (new blade) every time means always sanitary, so I have a smattering of different shavettes.... i.e. dovo, hess monsieur Charles, dreadnought and blackdragon to mention a few......that being said....I never use them at home and never on myself....it defeats the purpose of wet shaving......LONG LIVE THE STR8 RAZOR!!!
Disposable straight razors; what will they think of next?
This had got to be the most boring thread I have opened. Unless I missed the link to all the pictures :<0)
No advice on best blades ? (not that I would go there)
Oh I see I have to hunt them down....jeeeeesh.
I bought a straight razor on e-bay before I found SRP. Big Mistake. Razor not sharp enough to shave. So I bought a shavette for £5 to try. Been using it a couple of months now as a learning tool. Now that I am starting to improve my technique, I am now looking for a decent quality straight razor. So some people say blasphemy, but a shavette is a cheap learning tool, before you take the plunge and invest good money for a quality straight razor[/I]
