can you open the file with paint,(right click on file, and choose "open with" then paint), then resize and save. I use an 8 mp camera, and resize to 15%, that seems to work for me.

If you're on a Mac, select the photos you want to resize, right-click and open in Preview (or press Command+O). Then select all files in the Preview window (Command+A) and click Tools->Adjust size. That will resize all selected photos at the same time to the percentage you entered.
I haven't used Windows for quite a while. You can use Paint as is suggested above or search for "free photo resize software", of which there are probably dozens.
Good luck!I want a lather whip

I use a free program call IrfanView which is a simple way to resize photos. You use Irfanview to open a photo. Then click on resize/resample under the "image" column on the toolbar. Open the "Set New Size" box and type in 600 pixels in the "Width" box. This is a good size for using in the forum. The height of photo will automatically adjust to match the width. Then save the image using the save command and you are ready to go.

First, you probably mean upload, not download. Upload is when they go from your computer to SRP, download is the opposite.
They are resized to spec after they arrive on the SRP server, but there is a limit to the file sizes that can be uploaded. It's the default limit of 2MB, and should be more than enough given that even at that size over 90% will be thrown away by the resizing process. There was already one suggested in the posts above.
You can either change the settings on your camera so that the pictures you're taking are smaller, or you can resize them before uploading them. On Mac OS there's the 'Preview' program which can do it as posted above.
On windows you may have to install an additional software, but there are tons that are free and can do the simple crop and resize that you want to do.

Thanked: 1371You don't even need to download or install anything. You can do it on the web here: Free Online Picture Resizer - Crop and Resize photos, images, or pictures online for FREE!
