Default Ads for apps on tappa talk?

So tonight I noticed that when I was looking at the timeline that there was a weird looking thread figuring it was spam I click on it so I could report it as spam. When I clicked on it I was taken to the App Store.

So is this a new thing for tappa talk? Can the forum turn this off?

I am not sure. Tapatalk seems to be switching from charging for the app to giving the app for free and making money off advertising.
I can certainly turn off tapatalk if they are too intrusive.

Are you running the free or paid version of Tapatalk?

I've got a free version, tapatalk 2 and a paid version, tapatalk 4 ....... don't ask me why, I don't know myself ..... something about a fool and his money ....... no ads on my tapatalk that I've seen. Obviously YMMV.

On android tapatalk 2 and 4 have no ads. My wife had ads in tapatalk on her iPhone. I have been using it for 3 years and never saw an ad on any forum.

I have Tapatalk both for Android and iPhone. I do not see any ad in both of them.

Default Ads for apps on tappa talk?

It's not that intrusive now that I know what i am looking for it is easy enough not to click on it. The ad just looked like any other thread expect the title just didn't look right for our forum. Later I noticed that where an Orange/ red arrow appears when you have participated in a thread there was a blue arrow.

I had a paid versus but as of the last upgrade I don't know any more with all the changes that are going on. Just wanted to make everyone aware.

I started with the paid version on my iPhone which now turned into the free one. Only once did I notice the spam thread/link on the timeline you are talking about. I don't remember what I did (drove me nuts) but after playing around for a while I restarted TapaTalk and the spam thread/link was gone. I've never seen it come back and I've not seen one AD yet.

It shows up in my " Participated" section as "Aeria Mobile" being the poster, and " Immortalis" as the thread name. Is this the same for the rest of you, or is everyone's different? I've accidentally clicked on it a couple of times now, and as said, it results in a very annoying re-direction to the App Store.
