Thread: How I can change my Nick?

Hirlau the "nick" is the name not the avatar. Ie you are "hirlau" (still haven't figured that one out, and I used to get you mixed up with heelrau) not "small Asian child", I am "ed Hewitt" not "Patrick McGoohan in the prisoner". And.yes I like the little ukelele man too.
I only know what a nick is because I asked someone else, but now.I know I can spread my newfound knowledge with wrecklesss abandon like I knew it all along. For me a nick is now a known unknown.Last edited by edhewitt; 01-18-2014 at 11:43 PM.
Bread and water can so easily become tea and toast

Thanked: 1371Anywhere it's displayed in the user info box on the left will change, that's all referenced from a database table, and not saved as an independent string.
I'm pretty sure that the username displayed in a quote (where it says "originally posted by: xxxx...") is stored as part of the text string for the quote and not a database reference, so those wouldn't change.Last edited by HNSB; 01-18-2014 at 11:53 PM.
Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government.

Well Ed, all you had to do was ask; the word "Hirlau" is the name of a small town in Romania.
In everybody's lifetime, there are days that stand out & are remembered, forever. I spent one day with a family in the town of Hirlau, Romania. They had never met me before, yet the hospitality and kindness that was given to me, made me feel like I was a member of their family. A very good day in my life.
but,,,if it's easier to remember, "small Asian child" is fine,,,
