Default To the mods: Classifieds marked sold

I wasn't sure which mods "run" the classifieds so just posting it here:
I have an ad in Miscellaneous- do you know why an ad would be marked "sold" when as far as I know it hasn't been (i.e. no email, no paypal notification, etc)? The listing was suppsed to end, which is fine, but then for some reason it was marked sold...just wondering if that was a glitch?

    Thanks

Depending on the length of time the ad was running, it may have expired and automatically gets marked sold if I remember correctly.
Usually you'd get an email asking if you want to realist before it expires though. Maybe one of the others that knows more about the software than I will chime in and confirm.

Ah, well that would make sense cause I didn't do anything when I got that email
Thanks - I just wanted to make sure I didn't miss someone's communication.

When the software was working properly an email was sent letting the seller know the ad was about to expire. Unfortunately that feature hasn't been active for quite some time. I have the impression, but I am not sure, that if you see "Sold" in bold font it actually is sold, while if it is in a normal text it is just expired ....... but I may be (shudder) wrong about that.

Certainly if an item is for sure sold you will receive an email in your inbox from paypal. You can also check your paypal account ........ assuming it was listed with the buy it now option and of course if it was not it is a moot point.

Thanks Jimmy. I did receive that email that it was about to expire, but I didn't do anything just thinking it would expire in it's own. No email or PayPal info so I think it just ended.

Good to know that the email thing is working again. The devs will be glad to know that.

No. Go to "Archived Ads", and look at your most-recent one, and the one immediately below it: your "SOLD" appears in bold typeface, because your entire ad is in bold (you checked the box for "Bold", when you created the ad); the other individual's "SOLD" appears in regular typeface, because he did not check either of the boxes for "Bold" or "Italic", when he created his ad. Nothing "magical" about it.
You can have everything, and still not have enough.
I'd give it all up, for just a little more.

I had an ad also for "want to trade" and received no notification, but it was marked sold, I assumed the ad had expired. I didn't worry about it as I wasn't selling it, I was looking to trade. Did I think it was odd, yes. Was I going to worry about it nope. No attempt of communication was made.

Just glad to have a place to place an ad to sell items that I've enjoyed using and am done with. It allows me to reinvest in another razor I want to try.
