Zeepk advertised on SRP?!?!?
I just saw in the left margin an advert for Zeepk razors and razor gear by AuctionAd.
Well, I never laid eyes on one but I have got the impression that most SRP members who ever tried one were not impressed and newbees are generally dissuaded from buying one.
Here's my question: are adverts for Zeepk a step too far??

I already posted a caveat. I don't think Joe can do anything to control this (correct me if I'm wrong Joe). I guess ads are necessary to keep the site going

David put the eBay ads into the ad rotation to provide some variation and interest in the ads. Many of us spend a good deal of time browsing eBay ads, so this seemed like it would be of interest. So currently we have paid ads, Google ads, and Auction ads in the rotation. I don't know what controls David has over the AuctionAds, but I believe they are targeted by key words (eg, "shaving brush", "straight razor", etc.). I provided him with the German and French terms, so there should be some auctions appearing from European eBay sites. I would doubt he has the ability to restrict auctions by the "brand" (eg, Zeepk) but I don't know for sure. Even if we did, it would be a management nightmare to try to do that since the low quality sellers change their names regularly.
Look, Google and AuctionAds appear on many many many other sites, so it would be surprising that anyone here would assume these were anything other than the generic ads that they are.

I appreciate the reason for ads. I am used to them now and they do not bother me anymore.
Just a bit worried that Zeepk might be considered by newbees to be SRP-endorsed because they appear in the left margin. That's all.

I understand your concerns. Since these are just redirections to eBay, I would hope our newbies would exercise the same cautions as they do on eBay normally.
Just a small point of order here... nothing on the site is "endorsed by SRP". Any endorsements and/or criticisms found on the site have been posted by members and are the sole opinion and responsibility of the person posting it. To become a member, you had to agree to that as part of the registration process. For legal reasons, it has to be that way... whether we like it or not.
