Honing service
This may be a little premature but I will ask anyway. I sent a razor to member listed in the classifieds member section 5 weeks ago. He said 2 weeks ago it would be in the mail it was not. Emailed him a couple of days ago no reply. I already paid him for the service. If this continues down this road what are my options resolving this matter. What would a reasonable turn around time be or am I just being impatient. Thanks.

Thanked: 603FWIW, it's always a good idea when you're "doing business" with someone, to exchange "real" names, email, postal, and physical addresses, and one-or-more telephone numbers (and check that the phone numbers work). I'm assuming that, before sending either money or razor, you asked-for and verified recommendations from previous customers. We live and learn... and sometimes it's the "hard" lessons that teach us the most. Sorry for your troubles. I hope you have more than one razor.
You can have everything, and still not have enough.
I'd give it all up, for just a little more.

Thanked: 2284I consider everyone on here a gentleman, and would expect no one here to break that code. Give the person the benefit of the doubt. Everyone makes mistakes, we're all human. I would keep trying to contact them through every means necessary before I'd do anything to drastic.
I'm willing to bet things will work out for you.Last edited by HARRYWALLY; 03-30-2014 at 03:27 PM. Reason: spelling

I agree with everyones advice thanks. I am most likely jumping the gun but its becoming a concern. What would be a reasonable turn around time be maybe I am unrealistic. Yes I have a few razors to keep me going. It is not any of the big names on this forum. And thanks again this is a special group of people here just an amazing pool of knowledge.

Its like anything you send out - the second you put it in the post, you want it back. I'll give you that. Worse still is not being contacted after reaching out!! I feel your pain!
That said: I have been on forums long enough to have seen some weird things! Remember, dealing with a single man means things can and will happen. It not like a corp that has systems in place for "misfortune."
I would ask one of the forum mentors or moderators.David

It ain't me, but I've been around long enough to know that "life happens". I ordered a custom bbl from a one-man shop who promised six-months delivery. I contacted him when i didn't hear anything after 6 months. He quickly replied that he'd had a case of pnuemonia and it had set him back a few weeks. I thanked him and waited. I got my bbl a few weeks later, and it was worth the wait.
The key there was communication and that he had a great forum reputation, and that I understand small biz often has delays of biz and life that are inescapable.
Communication though, when I lose contact i get a little paranoid, but i wait and it usually works out. Hang in there.Buttery Goodness is the Grail
