Thanked: 480Classifieds problem
I have some razors up in the classifieds, using Buy it Now,
Problem is, more than one person has "bought it now"
I thought it was not supposed to be able to do that?
Now its "Lucy, I have some 'splainin to do!"

Problem ? I wish I had that problem ......... I can't even get one person to Buy it Now !! ..............
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Let me know which item(s) you are having a problem with when it happens. Most of the time now the sold marker is showing up as it should.

Thanked: 1936I have had that to happen before and I had to look at the time stamp on the payment, if you tied it to paypal, and refunded the second buyer. Only "fair" way I know of on dealing with a situation like that.

It was working fine in the older version, but the developer may have changed that part in the new version. I had enabled something else that could cause confusion with paypal's handling of the communication but I disabled it the other night.
So, if the newly created ads still don't get automatic update, it's either a bug in the software or a feature that was introduced since the last time and will have to wait on the developer.
But first I would like to know if it is still an issue with ads created after 12/31/14.
In the old software there was no proper locking but it marked the ad as sold after paypal acknowledged that the payment has been processed successfully. So it was possible to send more than one payment if other people initiated transactions before the first one was completed.
Right now the problem may be that paypal doesn't send that acknowledgement, or the current software ignores it.
A proper locking system would reject secondary payments with paypal after the first one is completed successfully, but I am not sure paypal offers such API, or if they do and the developer of the software isn't using it.
They certainly do it for items on ebay, but that's pretty much in-house and what they do for ebay they may not do for everybody else.
