    Default Starting a blog

Hello ..... How does a person start a blog here on this site?
Does that function need to be unlocked by a mod?
I would like to start one if possible.

    Thanks!

On the top bar right under the SRP logo, there should be a tab named "Blogs" see if it works for you, I am not sure that it is restricted to use.

"You have to have a fair bit of forum participation, on the order of a thousand posts and a year or two of membership and then you get a blog."

Holy smokes! If that is the case...... Wow..... 1000 posts and a year+ membership to do a blog? Ummmm.......
Guess they don't want just anyone doing a blog....... Oh well..... And when I click on the blogs tab..... It shows the blogs but nothing shows up to start one.
Guess I'll find a related section on the forums and do a posting there. Thanks for looking into this btw.

Never noticed the requirements. I went and in the menu it said my blog, clicked and then in a blue box( you can't see the text because of the color) it's says start a new thread. ( I think) :<0)
Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

Yeah, we think of SRP as primarily a community, not a marketplace or soapbox, so while we have those extras they're not available immediately upon signup.

It's always a matter of deciding on the particular requirements, but the thinking is that for those who enjoy writing so much that would like to have a blog 1000 posts would most likely be nothing; and getting to be part of the community, get to know people, get help and help others for a year first would tend to make a blog less than a vanity project and more something that is really worthy and interesting for the rest of us

I'm sure it's not perfect system, but nothing is and I don't think it's unreasonable in the context of this site (plus we can make exceptions to the rules whenever warranted.) We really don't want to be amazon, ebay, or blogspot just a place where people can find help and talk about shaving, razors, and other related things.

No worries. Rules are rules. Yall have a great community here btw..... No negatives I can see.

I'll just find the appropriate forum area to start a log of my progression on starting to restore some straight razors I have. This is more so for myself to help keep a record of sorts and also for those who have a lot more experience and know how to maybe see what I am doing and correct me if I happen be doing something incorrectly or if there is an easier way to do something. Offer helpful advice or even input. Any and all feedback would be welcomed. Also to ask questions, if I have any (I know I'll have a ton)....... I'm in a remote area, so access to someone in person is many hours drive, unless someone is close to Yorkton, Saskatchewan? LOL

We have an entire subforum dedicated to restoration work.
Here is a link to a gigantic sticki with tons of information on how to.

    http://straightrazorpalace.com/works...wers-here.html

You can post your restored razors in the appropriate sub-forum. You can make threads asking particular questions as you go, you can subscribe to the threads you make so that you can keep track of your progress etc. Just some options to consider.
