Random Survey and Menu thing on the Left
What's with the 'You've been selected to take part in a random survey' thing? Plus I don't like that menu thing on the left...

Sounds like google's filling some advertising with unsavory material. We do not do things like that and the only external material on the site is from the ad server which comes from google.
If you get something like this again, could you please note the ads on the page and let me know, so that I can block them and complain to google. If it becomes a problem we will change adservers again.

No probs. Is the 'related searches' thing on the left part of the site or an add on?

Hmm, it's quite possible, but these related searches don't come from SRP. It's probably something that your browser does and if that's the case we don't have control over it.
The ads are the banners at the top and to the right of the posts - most of them are from the site sponsors (no issues there), but some are filled by google (in principle shouldn't be issues with those either bit it's possible that a rogue advertiser violates google's TOS and tries something sketchy and google doesn't catch them immediately).Chevhead likes this.
