    Default Pasting forum

Could I make a suggestion for a forum dedicated to all things pasting? I just bought a brand new RA 7/8 razor with horn scales along with some nice shaving cream and a cool razor stand to display it on and there is absolutely no way my wife is going to let me buy anything more shaving related. My only consolation is that Christmas is only two months away which at the moment seems like an eternity. Doing my research on this site I have come to the conclusion that balsa wood and some cromeox would probably be my bet bet until Santa comes with a 12k naniwa or maybe a nice barbers hone. I just want to maintain my razors and that's it. Anyway, it would nice to have a forum dedicated to pasting and not just lumped in with hones. My two cents!

We can't make separate forum section for every possible category, because we'll quickly get requests for 10000 categories and it's much more difficult to navigate 10000 sections than finding what you're looking for within 20-30 sections.

However, if you think there is enough interest and enough present volume to separate these threads in their own section we'll certainly take a look at it.
Here is what you can do - go through the recent, say, 100 threads in the hones/strops/honing/stropping sections and notate the ones that pertain to pasted strops. Send me the list of those threads (the links to them, or just the thread number from the link) and we'll see if there is any merit to it.

I agree with Gugi. I am a big fan of pasted strops and while there is a fair amount of info on here about pasted strops most of it is people looking for stop gaps while saving money for a stone. When I first started to look into pasted it strops I had to go way back into the archives to more substantial info.

Here is a rough guide I did awhile ago if your still looking for info http://straightrazorpalace.com/strop...ugh-guide.html

    I don't have anything about the sub-forum thing - that's moderator territory.

I sure hope you also got a strop. If you did, you should be fine for at least two months. And a balsa/chromium oxide hone is cheap, effective and a fun little thing to try out anyway. You might not even need or want a hone after that.
