Thanked: 2Notifications
I like being automatically subscribed to threads I post or reply to. I am finding that I use the computer more for searching the forums and discovery but I use Tapatalk to view notifications. I tend to like the way that works better than clicking the link in e-mail. I looked at the options for notifications. If I select the notification panel only that will stop e-mails from coming for every post but will it also stop the notifications in Tapatalk?

Thanked: 2So I am going to try the control panel option. I am going to hope that I still get the Tapatalk and still am auto subscribed to threads I post in. That is what I am looking for, I want auto subscribe to work like it does now but I only want notifications in the control panel and Tapatalk, not on e-mail.
Worth a try. Worst comes to worse I will turn it back on and deal with it.

I don't think this would work and here's why:
Tapatalk is a third party software that just presents the vbulletin data differently.
Vbulletin has only one mode for notifications - email - so you either want to be subscribed/notified on thread update or don't; from vbulletin's point of view there is no reason to track threads that you are 'subscribed to' without sending you notifications (by email).
You may want to try daily or weekly emails - depending on how tapatalk is written it may work or not. If they trigger on the email notification it won't work. If they trigger on thread update then you can still get instant notifications on tapatalk, but only daily or weekly emails from vbulletin. You can also write a filter on your email software to discard those notifications - a bit wasteful but if you're deleting them anyways without reading them it makes sense to at least automate that.

Thanked: 2It seems that what I was subscribed to before I still get emails but the new ones I just get Tapatalk notifications. It is tough to be sure because the setting seems to act from the setting. Still trying to figure it out

Thanked: 2Confirmed at this point. Threads before the change I still get e-mails but threads since the change are only in Tapatalk. There are only a few threads still active from before the change now so thankfully I get much fewer e-mails.
