A Hone/Razor Collectors For Sale Thread

Hi Mods,

The members of SRP are in possession of some very fine equipment. A couple of times recently I've missed out on some collector grade stones and razors on the bay which I would have killed for, (and possibly paid double for) only to find out that the seller was none other than a familiar face on our own SRP. To make things worse, the sellers have stated that they would have much preferred their prized possessions to have gone to a member here, but of course it's against the rules to post threads of upcoming items for sale.

I fully agree with this rule, but would like to ask for an exception to be made for items which have no place appearing as random sales on ebay. (You know what I mean.)

Not being too familiar with the workings behind the forum, or, perhaps, of any other considerations, but would like to ask could we have a thread where users could put a photo of what they want to sell and perhaps just the date when they would like it sold by? Prices need not be discussed, and only items considered 'rare'.

Yes, I think maybe what I was hoping for isn't practical. I was just envisioning a thread where you could let other members know in advance before selling the 'good stuff'. It was more for those who care as much about who they sell to as what they sell.

I was going to delete at your request, but I've changed my mind after seeing Utopian's post. This is a good subject to discuss and see if modifications can be made on the selling of things.

Exception because the entire purpose of the thread would be to 'advertise'. And I think we all know most members list on ebay and not here, which is fine, but this would just be a chance to kind of do something for the other collectors out there. That's all.
